KNL, previously registered as Telenor Maritime Oy, announces that it has officially changed its registered company name back to KNL Networks Oy. This change reflects the company’s continued focus on its growing defence and security communications business.
“The return to the name KNL Networks Oy underlines our strategic direction and reinforces our commitment to the defence and security sector,” says Toni Lindén, CEO of KNL. “Our customers associate the KNL name with advanced, resilient communication solutions in critical environments. Aligning our official name with our operational identity ensures consistency and clarity.”
This is a technical change only — KNL remains a wholly owned company within the Telenor Group (OSL:TEL). The brand name KNL will continue to be used in all customer- and partner-facing contexts. There are no changes to the company’s legal structure, business ID, contracts, or operations.
KNL was acquired by Telenor in 2020 and initially integrated into Telenor Maritime AS, where the maritime communications business was the primary focus. In early 2022, as KNL’s defence and security business continued to expand, it was strategically carved out as a standalone business unit under Telenor Amp to better serve global defence customers with dedicated connectivity solutions.
